In 2011, the definition for disability status changed: only the 2 questions in the BRFSS Core Questionnaire have been used to define the North Carolina disability population. In previous years, the N C disability population was defined by 4 screener questions. These included the 2 core questions and the 2 North Carolina questions on self-perceived disability and trouble learning, remembering, or concentrating.
