All individually identifiable health and personal information collected and maintained by SCHS, such as name, address and social security number, are kept confidential and secure. Individual level data may be released under North Carolina law or rule; in general, such data release is for approved medical research or public health use that benefits North Carolinians. All SCHS staff adhere to the Division of Public Health Privacy and Security policies and sign Confidentiality Agreements.
