SCHS: LDAS: Health Services in LHDs

In 2018, local health department clinical service data reporting and analysis moved to a secure, direct file upload format for all local health departments located at the State Center for Health Statistics. Data analysis now occurs using Statistical Analytical Software (SAS). L-DAS processes local health department clinical data from the electronic health records of 100 counties daily.

Standard Reports Overview

QUARTER DATES: (1st) Jan 1 – Mar 31; (2nd) April 1 - June 30; (3rd) July 1 - Sept 30; (4th) Oct 1 – Dec 31

Quarterly Report and Primary Payor Source by Program are released to local health directors and local health department data managers on the 1st day of the month following the end of the quarter. Quarterly data are reviewed as part of internal/external checks on data integrity. Quarterly data is considered preliminary until final review and acceptance at the end of the calendar year.

New features of the Quarterly Report and Principal Payor Source Report

• Services: Report of services, as captured by CPT/HCPCS codes, by programs(s), by county, by service period.
• Encounters: Report of encounters, or visits, by a patient to program(s) by county by service period.
• Patients: Unduplicated patient county by program, by county.
• Unique Patients: Total unique patient counts, by county.

New features of the Principal Payor Source Report

• Insurance: Unduplicated Number of Patients by Principal Health Insurance Coverage.
• Program Counts: Unduplicated Number of Patients by Program Principal Health Insurance Coverage.
• Program counts with Percent: Unduplicated Number of Patients by Program by Principal Health Insurance Coverage with Percent.

Custom Reports

• Local health departments may request custom reports related to their county-specific data.
• Division of Public Health data managers may request custom reports related to program-specific data.
• DHHS/DPH management may request custom reports related to cross-cutting issues to public health.
